I think every job has its qualities where you spend some time doing something that is not really part of your profession. There are admin duties, managerial meetings and personnel issues that all do not really require the grad degree we went to school for. That’s okay and that’s part of any job — no matter your background or profession. I think the thing you have to evaluate though is just how great of a percentage of your time you are devoting to these tasks. At what point do you say: “I am no longer a UX designer?” When you hit that moment, it might be time to move on or try and change something about the position.
