Yes, I have noticed the school (the bootcamps) tend to feed into the corporate machine. I get the whole wireframe thing and there are days when I love putting my headphones on and pushing the pixels. But what I miss when I only do that is the ability to connect what I am doing to the experience. I start feeling like a cashier at a fast food restaurant where I don’t care if people like the burgers and fries. I just need to get them their order on time. When I am just cranking out the screens day after day, I often pause to ask what experience I am really designing. That is my job title after all — “User Experience Designer.”
